Have you received a call or voicemail from Bright Credit Lending, the Bright Credit Lending Qualification Department, or a caller telling you to call 217-834-9517 about a loan you never applied for?
Recent consumer reports describe unsolicited calls claiming that a loan, debt-consolidation offer, or approval is waiting for the recipient. The reports deserve additional caution because the same callback number has appeared in complaints using several different lending-related business names.
We could not verify an established lender operating under the exact name Bright Credit Lending from the sources reviewed. Current BBB Scam Tracker submissions report unsolicited loan and debt-consolidation calls using that name and directing consumers to 217-834-9517. The same callback number has also appeared in reports using other company names. If you did not apply for a loan, do not call back, provide personal information, or send money based only on the voicemail.

What Is Bright Credit Lending?
Bright Credit Lending is a name currently appearing in consumer scam reports involving unsolicited loan and debt-consolidation calls.
As of September 2026, we did not find a verified official lender website or clearly established financial company operating under the exact name Bright Credit Lending in the sources reviewed.
That does not prove that every use of those words is fraudulent. However, the current calling pattern is a reason to verify the identity of anyone using the name before responding.
Why Is 217-834-9517 Associated With Bright Credit Lending?
Recent Better Business Bureau Scam Tracker submissions identify 217-834-9517 as the callback number provided in unsolicited lending messages.
One September 2026 report described repeated calls and voicemails about loans the consumer had never applied for. The reported business name was Bright Credit Lending Qualification Department.
Another consumer reported receiving frequent calls from changing toll-free numbers instructing them to call 217-834-9517 regarding debt consolidation even though the person said they did not have debt and had not searched for a debt-consolidation program.
How the Bright Credit Lending Call May Work
The reported calls resemble the unexpected-loan-call pattern that the Federal Trade Commission has warned consumers about.
A message may tell you that:
- You have been preapproved or prequalified for a loan.
- Your application is almost complete.
- Your loan has entered a final or verification stage.
- You qualify for debt consolidation or a large installment loan.
- The approval or funding code will expire soon.
- You need to call a separate number to finish the process.
The message may sound especially convincing because it creates the impression that an application is already underway.
If you never submitted an application, that is a major warning sign.
Do Not Call Back Just to Cancel the Loan
The FTC advises consumers not to respond to unexpected loan messages merely to cancel an application they never submitted.
Calling back can confirm that your telephone number reaches a real person and can expose you to additional requests for personal or financial information.
The Same Callback Number Has Used Multiple Names
The name used in the voicemail is important, but the callback number provides additional context.
BBB Scam Tracker reports have associated 217-834-9517 with several different reported business names during 2026, including:
- Bright Credit Lending
- Bright Credit Lending Qualification Department
- Frontier Loan Advisors
- Cardinal Ridge Funding
- Heritage Creek Capital
Another BBB report involving the same number described a supposed approval for a $40,000 loan even though the recipient said they had never applied.
These are consumer-submitted Scam Tracker reports and do not establish who actually owns or operates the number. Telephone numbers and caller identities can also be spoofed or reassigned.
However, seeing the same callback number used with several different claimed lending identities is an important reason not to rely on the name spoken in a voicemail as proof of legitimacy.
Bright Credit Lending and Fig Lending Calls
There is an especially notable connection to recent Fig Lending calls.
A BBB Scam Tracker submission dated September 15, 2026 describes an unsolicited voicemail saying:
- The call was from a supposed Fig Lending verification department.
- The recipient's loan had entered the final verification stage.
- A funding code would expire within 24 hours.
- The recipient should call 217-834-9517.
The person reporting the message said they had not applied for the loan.
This is the same callback number appearing in the Bright Credit Lending reports.

Bright Credit Lending Is Not Necessarily Bright Lending or Bright Credit
The similar names can make these calls confusing.
Bright Lending
Bright Lending is a separate online lender operated by Aaniiih Nakoda Finance, LLC. The company identifies itself as a tribal lender wholly owned by the Fort Belknap Indian Community.
Its official website is:
Bright Lending itself warns that its loans are an expensive form of borrowing.
Bright Credit by Bright Money
Bright Credit is also the name of a separate financial product associated with Bright Money and Bright Capital Inc.
Bright Money currently says it no longer offers new unsecured Bright Credit lines of credit, although it continues servicing existing accounts.
Its official website is:
“Bright Credit Lending,” “Bright Lending,” and “Bright Credit” should not automatically be treated as the same company. Verify the complete legal business name and official website independently.
What If the Caller Says Your Loan Is Already Approved?
An unsolicited approval is not proof that someone has actually opened a loan in your name.
The FTC specifically warns about calls and texts that claim a consumer has applied for or been approved for a loan when no application was submitted.
Do not provide:
- Your Social Security number
- Your date of birth
- Your bank-account number
- Your debit-card number
- Your online banking credentials
- One-time authentication codes
- Copies of identification documents
If you are concerned that someone may actually have used your identity to apply for credit, review your credit reports and visit IdentityTheft.gov.
Watch for Upfront Loan Fees
Be particularly cautious if the caller eventually says you must pay something before your loan can be released.
The payment may be described as:
- A processing fee
- An insurance fee
- A verification payment
- A transaction charge
- A security deposit
- A credit-improvement payment
- A loan release fee
The FTC warns that promising a loan and then demanding an upfront payment to guarantee or release it is a classic advance-fee loan scam pattern.

What to Do If Bright Credit Lending Calls You
- Do not call the callback number just because the voicemail tells you to.
- Ask yourself whether you actually applied for a loan.
- Do not provide personal or banking information.
- Do not pay a fee to release supposed loan funds.
- Save the voicemail and telephone number.
- Block repeated unwanted calls.
- Report suspicious calls at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
If you were searching for a real lender, locate its official website yourself rather than using the website, telephone number, or link supplied in an unexpected call.
